Sand Turtle (Sandra's Turtle)
Maker - Walter Scott Co.

Here we got a composing table, or in the trade you'd call it a Turtle. A Turtle is a composing table on wheels, and the nick name came from the fact the Turtle Co. made many of them.  This one is NOT from the Turtle Co. and is pretty rare site.  This is a wooden based turtle from the Walter Scott Co. in Plainsfield, New Jersey.  Below shows the before restoration and after restoration.

The Walter Scott Co. was founded in 1884 by none other than Walter Scott.  It was mainly based out of Plainfield, NJ making high speed newspaper printing presses and folding machine.  The business hung around even after Walter passed away in 1931, but later fell for sale to Wood Newspaper Machinery Co. in 1957.
